They usually keep paying for long after they’ve stopped saying, “I’m going to go to the gym this week!… or try if I’m not too busy.” Cancellation is emotional for a lot of people, it’s like admitting that you’re giving up. They keep paying for it, hoping it will increase their desire to work out since they’re literally investing in it. They keep paying for the membership via autopay, while their motivation wanes. People don’t get a gym membership for New Years, stop going, then immediately cancel their membership.
